THE LYNDON HOUSE TOUR (continued, 3) |
When you walk out of the the Parlor, you'll pass through the front Foyer facing N. Broadway - usually one of the prettiest areas in the house due to the morning sun. |
From the Foyer, you can head into the Sun Room that runs the length of the southwest side of the house.
The warmth and wicker furniture make it a very comfortable place to sneak away and unwind. And the six-foot windows provide all the light you need to sit and read, chat, or just relax.
When you leave the Sun Room, you'll have come full circle when you walk back into the Gathering Room...which is the social center of Lyndon House.
The hallway extends through the center of the house from the back door in the Gathering Room to the front door facing North Broadway. As you can see, when the current owner renovated the Lyndon House, he went to great pains to preserve the architectural integrity of the house and historic details of the woodwork.
After finally arriving at Lyndon House, our guests are often happy to find the elevator, located halfway down the center hallway, to carry them and their luggage to the guest rooms on the second floor.
However, if you choose to walk up to your room, you'll certainly enjoy the carefully restored Jacobean style staircase and the stained glass panels that decorate the landing.
